Clinical Hypnotherapy: A Modern Approach
For centuries, hypnosis has been a doorway to the subconscious—a path beyond the linear and logical, into the deeper layers of the mind. Modern neuroscience now confirms what ancient wisdom has always known: hypnosis can help you move beyond old limitations and open new possibilities.
Hypnotherapy sits at the intersection of psychotherapy and deep meditative states. Each session begins with a conversation — a chance to explore what’s keeping you stuck and what you’re moving toward. From there, you’ll be guided into a state of focused relaxation where the subconscious becomes more receptive. Carefully crafted language and suggestion work to shift entrenched patterns, build inner resilience, and bring you into closer alignment with what you actually want.
You’ll leave feeling clearer, more grounded, and more like yourself.

Meet Amanda K. Reilly-Johnson, LMHC
Amanda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State and a certified clinical hypnotherapist with over eight years of practice. She holds a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from New York University and a Bachelor’s in Holistic Psychology from Lesley University, with additional coursework in pre-medicine and certifications in health coaching and yoga instruction. In a field where most practitioners hold a weekend certification, Amanda’s clinical training and state licensure represent a meaningful distinction.
Her work sits at the intersection of psychotherapy and hypnosis — grounded in the science of how the subconscious mind drives behavior, emotional response, and habit. Sessions are not protocol-driven; they are collaborative, personalized, and aimed at the underlying patterns that conscious effort alone rarely reaches. She is not a passive observer — she is an active participant in the work.
Amanda has partnered with organizations including SoHo House, Red Bull, and Hudson Medical, and works primarily with professionals, athletes, and artists — people who are self-aware, high-functioning, and privately frustrated that knowing their patterns hasn’t been enough to change them.
She offers telehealth appointments and limited in-person sessions at her office in Tribeca, NYC.
The consultation offers a chance for us to connect, discuss your goals and expectations, and determine whether working together feels like the right fit. This initial consultation is offered at no cost.
Hypnosis is a learning state where we can expand our consciousness, gain profound insight, and amplify what we need most.
